Safety Training Offerings
UWUA offers several options for locals looking to create a stronger culture of safety in their workplaces. Through either the Power for America Training Trust Fund (P4A) or UWUA Safety Director Scotty MacNeill, we can help you reach your safety goals regardless of your industry.
UWUA’s core training offerings include the following. Alternatively, we can work with you to design a custom curriculum around your local’s specific needs:
- Peer-to-Peer Training: Locals that participate in this training will learn how an effective safety committee works including how to assemble a union-lead safety committee and the building blocks of an effective safety committee.
- Safety Leadership Training: Locals that take this safety leadership training course will understand how to implement a peer-to-peer safety model, including how to conduct site visits and work observations.
- Other Offerings: While most local’s needs fit into one of the above categories, the UWUA also offerings training programs that teach members proper investigation strategies, root cause analysis, and more.
If you are looking to reduce workplace injuries, improve on-the-job safety skills, or simply take ownership of your members’ safety needs, reach out to us. We can help!
