Confirmation hearings for Puzder are set for January 12th, and we must tell our representatives that he is an unacceptable choice to enforce our nation’s labor laws! Puzder is against an increase in the minimum wage. He’s opposed to expanding overtime pay. He supported replacing working people with machines. And of his company’s restaurants that were investigated for labor law complaints, 60% were found to have violated the law. Most of these complaints were for failure to pay workers minimum wage or overtime.

James Selvin, president of Utility Workers Union of America Local 1-2, said Cuomo and Entergy executives did not keep “the best interests of New York or New Yorkers in mind when they entered secret talks to strike a devil’s bargain.”
“The adverse economic impact will be in the tens of millions of dollars lost to the local Westchester economy and the surging electricity rates that will follow a closed Indian Point’s wake,” Selvin said. “It will be devastating.” Read More

Scott Walker. “Hiring freezes, an end to automatic raises, a green light to fire poor performers, a ban on union business on the government’s dime and less generous pensions — these are the contours of the blueprint emerging under Republican control of Washington in January. …Gingrich said the Trump administration probably would look for guidance from Wisconsin Gov.
