UWUA, just like all labor unions, is a democracy through and through. From the formation of new bargaining units, to the election of officers, our union is built and governed by collective action and member participation. UWUA’s National Officers are elected and installed at each regular National Convention, and serve terms of 4 years. By constitutional resolution, nominees must have been employed in and around energy, electric, gas, steam, water, telecommunications, generation, service, and related industries and organizations. This ensures that UWUA’s leadership are knowledgeable and experienced in the fields represented by our membership.

The National Executive Board consists of the National President, the National Executive Vice President, the National Vice President, the National Secretary-Treasurer and twenty (20) National Executive Board Members. The National Executive Board is charged with executing the instructions of the National Convention, and between National Conventions has the responsibility and power to direct the workings of the organization and to formulate policy affecting the good and welfare of the National Union.
