About UWUA
Our highly-skilled members provide essential services that keep our homes, businesses, and schools running every day. We keep the power on, we keep the water flowing, we make sure gas is there when you need it, and much more.
UWUA members work both underground and aboveground repairing the electric grid, perched high atop wind turbines, and in many other places in between. You will find us in your communities operating and maintaining natural gas transmission, storage, and distribution systems to heat your homes and cook your food.
We power America in coal, natural gas, nuclear, and hydro-electric power plants, ensuring the lights stay on around the clock. We are meeting the future in energy storage facilities and on utility-scale wind and solar farms. We keep our customers healthy by providing clean drinking water, treating wastewater, and maintaining water systems throughout our communities. We operate and maintain municipal services. In office and technical settings, we respond to consumer needs, and we prepare for energy and water system repairs and the future of our utility infrastructure.
