Utility Workers Union Urges Congress to Improve Workplace Protections, Approve the PRO Act

Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) President Jim Slevin recently spoke out in support of the PRO Act.

WASHINGTON, DC (FEBRUARY 5, 2020) – Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) President Jim Slevin today released the following statement in support of the PRO Act:

“For far too long, laws that govern the workplace have favored the boss. This important legislation takes steps to change that. It gives working families more of a say in seeking fairer wages and benefits, safer working conditions and to fight against workplace discrimination. At the same time, it rightly imposes penalties on employers that break the law and eliminates right-to-work laws.

“Thank you to Speaker Pelosi for her leadership in support of working families and to the members of Congress who signed onto this legislation.
