Rising Up Against Right-to-Work Initiatives

Democrats in the House of Representatives recently introduced a measure to overturn a decades-long effort to undermine labor unions. The Protecting the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act), introduced earlier this month pushes back against the litany of so-called “right-to-work” laws passed in more than two dozen Republican-led states.

The PRO Act would also, for the first time, empower the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to fine employers for non-compliance–specifically if they fire workers who are trying to organize.
