On Friday, June 29, Delegates to the Utility Workers Union of America's 28th Constitutional Convention elected National Officers to lead the 50,000-member union for the next four years. They are: D. Michael Langford, National President; Steven VanSlooten, National Executive Vice President; John Duffy, National Vice President; andGary Ruffner, National Secretary Treasurer. Their elections were uncontested.

In addition, the 305 delegates from 163 locals at the convention also elected the following leaders to the UWUA Executive Board:

Members-At-Large: Jim Anderson, John Capra, Noel Christmas, Mike Coleman, Kelly Cooper, Robert Farrell, Robert Fronek, Jim Gennett, Marta Rodriquez-Harris, James Harrison, Keith Holmes, Dan Hurley, Monte Kotur, Rich Mata, Lucia Pagano, Charlie Rittenhouse, John Sugrue, Gary Sullivan and Shawn Garvey.

Regional Executive Board Members:

• Region I - Harry Farrell
• Region II - William Sterner
• Region III - Robert Kovar
• Region IV - Will Ellsworth
• Region V - Helen Olague-Pimentel

In remarks following the swearing in ceremony, National President Langford said, "I am proud to lead this fantastic union and look forward to working with the National Officers, the Executive Board and our members to aggressively move this organization forward.
