Women workers want to be sure their voices are heard and the AFL-CIO Executive Council Committee on Women Workers is working to share information with and coordinate efforts for participation in the event. Our UWUA Women’s Caucus co-chairs, Valerie King & Ursula Grant, have participated in early planning conference calls.
The event is being held the day after the Inauguration and it is expected that most participants will arrive and depart the same day by bus. Any UWUAmembers (male and female alike) that are interested in participating can obtain the most up to date information and details about the event at www.womensmarch.com. In addition to the DC event, numerous local “Sister Marches” are also being held the same day and information about those are also available on the website.
Please share this information with your fellow members and encourage participation as interest and availability permit. All efforts should be coordinated through the Women’s March website and questions and concerns can be directed to the event organizers per below.
