Brothers & Sisters,
The right to vote is fundamental to our democracy. Elected officials at every level of government make decisions that affect our lives. Congress, State Legislatures and City Councils create policies on jobs, education and tuition, immigration, taxation and war. Today, even our basic rights are being challenged. Across the country we’ve seen attacks on union rights, worker’s rights, women’s rights and even the right to vote. As you know all too well, politicians do not always represent our interests. It is our job to make sure they do! Don’t let someone else make decisions without your say.
There are many very important races during these mid-term elections. In many states, voter turn-out is expected to be high. History has shown that people are more apt to vote if they expect everyone else is going to be voting. That means every single vote is going to count more than ever this year. Make sure your voice is heard.
The ballot is the greatest power we possess. Don’t take your rights or your future for granted. Vote this November!
