See How Your Lawmakers Voted this Year with AFL-CIO Congressional Scorecard

 

dreamstime_18832362With Congress out on its August recess and working families set to hold lawmakers accountable for their lack of action on the job, it’s a good time to check out the AFL-CIO online interim voting record for this session of Congress.

The scorecard lists House and Senate votes on key issues so far this year, including Republican attacks on health care reform, the National Labor Relations Board, workers’ rights and construction workers wages. It also looks at votes on budget bills and spending cuts that would slash vital working family programs while continuing tax breaks for the wealthy and big corporations.

The quickest way to find out how your representative and senators voted is to search by ZIP code. If your ZIP code is split across two congressional districts, you’ll be asked to enter your street address to get the right representative.

You also can check out the voting record for the entire state’s congressional delegation. Just go to the pull-down menu, select a chamber (House or Senate), a Congress by year and the state.

If you are looking for more detailed information on the particular bill, click on the bill’s title above the chart, and it will provide you with a more thorough description.

The interim voting record does not include a lawmaker’s lifetime record. But if your representative or senators are not in his or her first term, simply select 2010 year and his or her name from the pull-down menu for a lifetime record of supporting or opposing working
