UWUA Supports Veterans By Giving an American Tradition

Statement by Richard Passarelli
National Veterans Chair Utility Workers Union of America AFL-CIO
300 South Ashland Ave, Suite 206
Chicago IL, 60607

“Under leadership of National Utility Workers of America President Mike Langford, National Veterans Chair Richard Passarelli and the Partnership of Girl Scouts of Connecticut Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Smith 3,200 cases of assorted Girl scouts cookies will be donated to Rocky Hill State Veterans Hospital Connecticut.

“Hopefully we will be able to bring a small piece of American tradition to these Veterans. Working with veterans and the ability to put smiles on faces of those who served us in this great country of ours brings a feeling of great satisfaction said Richard Passarelli a US Navy Veteran himself and National Veterans chairman of the Utility workers Union of America.

With thousands of men and women returning back from our countries conflicts and into a very tough circumstances.  Veteran’s rates for PTSD, substance abuse and homelessness are simply unacceptable in this great country. We are pushing hard for veterans to receive the dignity, respect and medical care they deserve. At the very least we need to bring these issues to the public, if we do not take care of those who served  us we will lose the very fabric of what it means to be Americans.”
