Encouraging hiring managers to use their expertise to help make the federal government a leader in Veterans' employment, Deputy Secretary Seth Harris addressed the Federal Veterans Employment Symposium Thursday afternoon. The three day event brought together hiring managers from agencies across the federal government to discuss best practices for hiring former service members. After highlighting several veterans employment programs at the Labor Department, Harris issued a challenge to those in the room to provide feedback and guidance on how agencies can provide training, resources and outreach mechanisms to hiring managers to reach the veteran population.
